Rachel Breeze (UK Lead, Unbox) announces the launch of UnLitter UK (Unbox Litter) in Durham
Visit County Durham and Unbox the Universe have joined forces to launch a new mobile app to create cleaner, greener communities with a reward system which brings value to local businesses. The app, called "UnLitter UK," encourages community action by rewarding residents and visitors for disposing of litter in their local area. Available for consumers to download on Friday 24th February 2023.
Greener Communities
"Litter is a growing problem that affects us all, and I believe that community action is the key to solving it," said Vivek Gurav, The Plog Man. "We are taking an innovative approach to tackle this issue. By working together, we can make a real difference and create cleaner, greener communities."
An Innovative Reward System

With each piece of litter picked up and properly disposed of, users are rewarded with Circular Ucoins that can be redeemed for real-world rewards. UnLitter UK will be available for residents and visitors to download for free on the App Store and Google Play on Friday 24th February 2023. With its focus on community action and incentives for correctly disposing of litter, UnLitter UK is set to become a powerful tool in the promotion of the community fight against littering and boosting the local economy.
